Can I make a booking at the moment?

Absolutley! Please note bookings are limited to groups of 30 for a maximum of two hours. Tables can seat a maximum of 10 guests at each table and mingling (moving seats/standing while eating or drinking is off the cards). For now, those who wish to book an outdoor table will have access to the Playgreen. Those patrons seated inside, will need to remain in that area. Therefore we encourage parents with children to book outdoor tables, subject to availability.

What extra precautions are you taking to ensure The Backyard is a safe place to visit?

The safety and wellbeing of our customers, team and community is our top priority. While we continue to serve you, we’re taking extra precautions to ensure The Backyard at Briars Sports is clean and hygienic including more frequent cleaning and encouraging healthy physical distancing and good hygiene. > There is more frequent cleaning with a focus on high traffic areas and frequently touched surfaces and bathrooms > All our employees are healthy and following strict hygiene procedures > Our kitchen brigade are doubling down on sanitising and safety with regularly changed disposable gloves and face masks > We would strongly prefer payment via PayPass/contactless and cashless methods > Hand santiser units are at our main entrances, dining areas, on tables and near bathrooms > Physical distancing measures are in place to protect our community > Management has calculated the number of people that can be safely onsite at any one time > We have reduced our number of seats available in the dining areas to allow for the 1.5 m personal contact distance > The Backyard will keep any unwell team member at home even if slightly unwell. We would like to assure you that we are staying up-to-date with the latest government advice and are working hard to adapt to better serve our customers and community. We are extremely fortunate with our wonderful, spacious restaurant, which is the perfect location for physical distance dining.

What can I do during my visit for the saftey of my family, friends and community?

Whilst in the venue, we would appreciate it if you could observe the physical distancing rules in place. We need to abide by rules of how many people can be in dining areas at one time. Please respect and obey these restrictions. Please ensure you sign-in on entry, use the sanitising stations and hand sanitisers on each table, wash your hands regularly including after touching common surfaces and after coughing or sneezing. Limit mingling between tables and around the venue. Please do not come along if you have flu like symptoms. Contactless payment is preferred at this time.

What about kids?

We ask that you assist your children in hygiene around the venue, using the hand sanitiser provided and following the rules. The Playgreen is OPEN. We do ask the adults remain seated and minimise movement around the venue. For now, those who wish to book an outdoor table will have access to the Playgreen. Those patrons seated inside, will need to remain in that area. Therefore we encourage parents with children to book outdoor tables, subject to availability.

Do we need to observe physical distancing if dining with family at The Backyard?

If you are dining as a family unit, from the same household you will not need to physically distance within your group at your table. If you are from different households please observe the 1.5m physical distancing requirements.

What is the maximum number of people I can book for?

Currently you can book for a maximum 30 guests. Tables are spaced apart apropriately and can seat up to 10 guests on each table (maximum).

What are the current trading hours?
